Stackii - an update!
over 1 year ago – Wed, Jan 25, 2023 at 08:23:46 AM

Hello y'all!

You're overdue a Stowii update right?

Indeed you are... so quick update here for you.

We've been up and running this January after our machinery #fail that left us a bit stuck for about 5 weeks – damn you technology!

I know you're probably all sick of pretty much the same photo, but here's our latest set of freshly cut dishes. There are some previously uncut components on here though – the spell trackers and bureau layers. Also some new woods on here; wenge and purpleheart.

At this stage we have most of the dish layers cut and we are on to the trays – and there are a lot less trays than dishes. We should have 50% of the trays cut this week and then we'll look at the dice trays and their accessories.

As we are getting closed to having the layers ready we are now looking at packaging. Our aim is to get at least the first 50% of order out in February - we're keen on making it more than that, but well, we'll see.

We've been busy working on other things alongside Stackii. If you're waiting on the launch of Stowii, we're gearing up for that, we need to get our Stackii pledges out first though. We'll have more Stowii updates for you soon.

Stackii - Production
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 18, 2022 at 02:34:39 AM

Hey everyone.

I must apologise, appreciate we've been quiet recently, so an update is, I'm sure, welcome somewhat overdue!

It's been a tricky summer on a number of levels, the main tricky thing has been moving and setting up a new workshop. Not sure how many van trips there's been, or miles travelled between storage and the new workshop (sorry Ms Thunberg), but it's certainly a lot at all hours of the day.

Thankfully we're now all up and running again and loving working in the new shop.

The good news is that Stackii production is now well underway. The upheaval has left things a few weeks behind schedule we'd hoped for but we are aiming to have the first set of Stackiis out within the next month - we'll be fulfilled in the order that the Kickstarter pledges came in.

We'll keep you updated with more news and update photos in the coming weeks (you all love photos of sanding right?)

All the best and hapy gaming

An update from Team Stackii
almost 2 years ago – Sun, Aug 28, 2022 at 05:41:56 PM

 Hello out there!

I appreciate you've been quiet recently and you're likely wondering what's going on with the Stackii Kickstarter, so...bit of an update for you!

The summer has mainly been about getting our production system together. This took a bit of a turn when we decided to move workshop. In a bid to be lean and maintain our prices, we decided to downsize from our, frankly, too big industrial unit to our original workshop. Eay on paper but something of a nightmare when you've got 6 years of workshop stuff to clear out - and clean the sawdust off! The workshop we're moving back to has been left pretty dormant for the last 7 years - the fight was on with the spiders who had become scarily large🕷(although none of them were actually harmed in the process).

So, after 4 weeks of hard labour, we're just about there.

Next week the CNC will be back in its new home - cleaned up and updated. We will then finally be on with some intense Stackii creation, hopefully the week after that 🎉.

We'll be fulfilling the Stackii pledges in the order we received them, and we'll be fulfilling the first third of pledges first.

It may not be the most exciting photo you've ever seen (although I have put it in a fancy frame for you), but Dav was excited to get a lorry load of timber delivered for your Stackii orders (although less excited about moving it all to the new workshop!). We've started processing it - planning it roughly to size and now leaving it to settle before getting it to the final thickness - we'll get some photos to you once we start making it into Stackii shapes.

We're continuing to develop other parts of our gaming accessories company. The Fantasy Wood Works website is all up and running, with our custom gaming boxes and miniature painting accessories. We also got set loose with the public last weekend - we had a little stand at Chillcon where we showed off our Stackii and Stowii prototypes as well as The Fantasy Wood Works products.

Now that our workshop move is well on its way to being completed, we'll be keeping you updated on the manufacture of the Stackiis in the coming weeks!

All the best

Dav & Mark.

Stackii - putting a lid on it!
about 2 years ago – Fri, Jun 17, 2022 at 04:19:21 PM

Hi everyone.

Hope you are all well, it's boiling hot here today in the attic office - I won't explain what I'm wearing!

Just a quick Stackii update for you. I've been working away with spreadsheets, working out what free lids and Big Stacker Fasteners backers are entitled to.  As we mentioned before - we've been working with the good people at Backerkit to impliment a system that should work perfectly to find out what timbers you want for the free items. This is all now set up - the items have been added to your surveys and if you are entitled to the free items offer (and most of you are), you'll be getting an email in the next few days from Backerkit with a link to log back in to Backerkit to choose your options. This isn't a 'live' element of Backerkit's features so we are privilaged to be one of, if not the first campaign to try out the new system - so let's hope it works!

If we've miscalcuted and you think you would be entitled to more free bits, just email me and I'll take a look at the order details - If I was in doubt I've tended to give more free bits though so all should be fine.
There's a handful of backers who haven't filled in the Backerkit pledge manager. We will leave the Backerkit open for now, but, if you don't fill in your Backerkit you'll have lost your £22 pledge - so even if you just want one layer, get it filled in and we can add you to the production list!
Other than that, we've put our first order in for a lorry load of timber for Stackiis - let's hope it's cooled down next week when I have to unload all that into the workshop!
We're still working on upgrading the workshop and waiting for a week or so when we can strip down and upgrade the CNC machine and I'm off out with Mark tonight - hopefully I can get him suitably 'merry' to get him on board with the idea of helping me move a really heavy machine from my home woodwork shop to the main Bubba Dawg workshop!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
 All the best
